SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Al-Qassam Brigade postpones Israeli hostage release after Tel Aviv violates ceasefire deal in Gaza.

As recorded by Hamas, Israel had neglected the ceasefire agreement by delaying the return of Palestinian refugees to northern Gaza, shelling various areas in the Gaza Strip, and preventing humanitarian aid from entering Gaza.

“Therefore, the release of Zionist prisoners scheduled for Saturday (2/15) will be postponed until further notice, while awaiting full compliance by the occupiers with the terms of the ceasefire agreement," said Al-Qassam Brigades spokesperson, Abu Obaida, as quoted from Antara on Monday (2/10).

In response, Israeli defense official, Israel Katz, has ordered the military to be on 'highest alert' for any potential scenarios in Gaza. Katz stated that Hamas' statement is a 'direct violation' of the ceasefire agreement.

Meanwhile, families of Israelis held hostage in Gaza have urged mediator countries (Egypt, Qatar, and the US) to immediately intervene and ensure the restoration and enforcement of the ceasefire agreement.

Earlier, three-phase ceasefire agreement has been in effect in Gaza since January 19, aimed at ending the Israeli genocidal war that has claimed more than 48,000 lives and devastated the Palestinian.

According to the schedule of the first phase of the ceasefire, which will last until the beginning of March, the sixth prisoner exchange between Israel and Hamas is scheduled to take place later this week.
