SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The government and the DPR are expected to set the cost of the 2025 Hajj cheaper than the previous year. Therefore, there needs to be a new breakthrough so that the cost of the Hajj pilgrimage can go down.

This was expressed by a member of Commission VIII of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Askweni. The government and members of the House of Representatives can make a breakthrough this year as a gift from President Prabowo for the Indonesian people who go on the hajj in 2025.

"It turns out that President Prabowo can make breakthroughs not only in one or two areas, not only food, even going on the hajj can be cheaper," Askweni said as quoted by Antara from a statement confirmed in Jakarta, Thursday (2/1/2025).

Previously, the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) proposed the Hajj Pilgrimage Organization Cost (BPIH) for the 1446 Hijri/2025 hajj season of IDR 93,389,684 per person.

"For the year 1446 Hijri or 2025 AD, the government proposed an average BPIH per prospective hajj of IDR 93,389,684," said Minister of Religion Nasaruddin Umar in a Working Meeting of the Minister of Religion with Commission VIII of the Indonesian House of Representatives in Jakarta, Monday (30/12).

Nasaruddin Umar said that the proposal consists of the Hajj Pilgrimage Travel Cost (Bipih) borne by prospective hajj pilgrims of Rp65,372,779 or 70 percent, while Rp28,016,905 or 30 percent is borne from the benefit value managed by the Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH).
