SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that light rain will fall in several areas in Jakarta on the first day of 2025, Wednesday (1/1/2025).

Reporting from the official BMKG website, light rain will fall in the Seribu Islands, West Jakarta, South Jakarta, and East Jakarta. On the other hand, cloudy weather is predicted to occur in Central Jakarta and North Jakarta.

BMKG predicts that the temperature in Jakarta will range between 25-28 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, outside Jakarta, light rain will also occur in Tangerang, South Tangerang, Bogor, Bekasi, and Depok. The temperature will range between 24-29 degrees Celsius.

Previously, the Head of the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Dwikorita Karnawati asked all stakeholders of the Merak-Bekauheni crossing to comply with the joint SOP that has been agreed upon to ensure the safety of services at the Merak-Bakaheuni crossing.

This follows the weather forecast that Banten will be showered with light to moderate rain during the 2025 Christmas and New Year holidays.

"In general, during the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year period, the rainfall forecast in Banten is in the light to moderate category. The high wave conditions on the Merak-Bakaheuni crossing route are predicted to be in the moderate category (1.25-2.5 meters)," said Dwikorita at the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year Holiday Monitoring Coordination Meeting at the ASDP Merak Port Executive Pier, Tuesday (24/12).
