SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The Jakarta Provincial Government will implement traffic management measures around the Monumen Nasional (Monas) area in Central Jakarta on New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 2:00 AM.
"Traffic will be diverted at several points to support the New Year’s Eve celebrations," stated Syafrin Liputo, Head of the Jakarta Transportation Agency, Monday, December 30, 2024 as quoted from Antara.
A total of ten road sections will face closures during the traffic diversion. Alternative routes have been arranged to ensure smooth transportation flow for residents and visitors during the festivities.
Alternative routes will guide traffic from east, south, north, and west directions. These adjustments are designed to mitigate congestion and support the festive atmosphere near Monas. For instance, travelers from Pasar Senen heading west can take Jalan Senen Raya through Kwini I and other connecting streets to Harmoni.
Alongside traffic arrangements, the city offers special "Monas Night Tourism" experiences. Operational hours for Monas visits have been extended, featuring video mapping displays and entertainment stages to enrich the holiday festivities.
