Ancol Reshapes Vendor Setup for Improved Experience

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol Tbk, a state-owned enterprise under the DKI Jakarta government, has initiated a restructuring of street vendors at the Beach Pool area to enhance both their welfare and visitors' experience. The program, launched on (12/16/2024), aims to provide better opportunities for vendors in the popular tourist area.
Ariyadi Eko Nugroho, Corporate Communication Manager at Ancol, explained that registered vendors will receive strategic selling spaces, uniforms, and merchandise at no cost. “All profits from the sales belong to the vendors, who will receive their earnings after each day’s business,” he said.
Currently, 30 vendors who had been selling in Ancol have enrolled in the trial phase of the program. The focus is on the Beach Pool area, where the goal is to improve both vendor opportunities and visitor satisfaction.
"This restructuring is part of our commitment to providing vendors with the chance to grow and improve their livelihoods," Nugroho added. "We believe this will benefit both vendors and visitors."
On December (25/2024), some vendors who hadn't joined the program were relocated to the nearby Lagoon Beach area. Vendors outside the program can still sell at other locations, such as Pantai Indah and Danau Monumen, ensuring they still have opportunities to earn.
