Seatoday.com, Jakarta Police arrested ZDL (28), an Instagram influencer at her house in Semarang, Central Java. The "selebgram" was accused for killing her own baby and left the body in the trash at the Bali airport while leaving for her hometown.
Ida Ayu Wikarniti, Police Chief for the Ngurah Rai Airport Area, said that ZDL wanted to hide the pregnancy and birth from her new lover.
"Because she wanted to be serious with her boyfriend, while the baby who was killed was the result of his illicit relationship with someone else," Wikarniti told the media.
On Sunday (15/10) at around 16.30 local time, a janitor who was carrying her duties found a suspicious white plastic bag in the trash can. Later on, she and her friends found a baby in it and reported it to the police.
The police immediately carried out an investigation and coordinated with airport officials to check the CCTV footage and track the suspect down.
When questioned, she said that before throwing away her baby, she suddenly gave birth at a hotel in Legian, Kuta.
The suspect told the police that she did not know the exact age of her pregnancy, because she only became aware of it in August 2023.
For her alleged crime, ZDL was charged under Article 342 of the Criminal Code with the threat of a prison sentence of 9 years.
