SEAToday.com, Jakarta-Indonesian President-elect Prabowo Subianto and Indonesian current President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo have different ways of calling people who might serve as their ministers.

In the last two days, President-elect Prabowo has called the names of people who will serve as ministerial candidates, deputy ministerial candidates, and agency head candidates.

What Prabowo did was also done by President Jokowi when calling the names of ministerial candidates for the Indonesia Maju Cabinet for the 2019-2024 period. What are the differences between President Jokowi and Prabowo when calling their ministerial candidates?

  1. Location

Prabowo called the names of prospective cabinet members to come to his private residence on Jalan Kertanegara, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta. Meanwhile, President Jokowi called ministerial candidates to the Presidential Palace.

  1. Timing

Prabowo called ministerial candidates before he was inaugurated as president, and President Jokowi after.

  1. Ministerial Candidates’ Appearance

The ministerial candidates, deputy ministerial candidates, and agency head candidates wore batik when they came to Prabowo’s house. Meanwhile, when President Jokowi called his ministerial candidates, they wore white shirts that were identical to Jokowi’s figure.

  1. Amount of People

Prabowo is said to create around 46 ministries, so that several ministries in the President Jokowi administration will be merged or separated.

Therefore, the number of people called by Prabowo is much higher. That does not include several deputy minister candidates and candidates for heads of institutions. Meanwhile, President Jokowi at that time only called ministerial candidates.

Prabowo and Gibran Rakabuming Raka will be inaugurated on Sunday (10/20). After the inauguration, Prabowo and Gibran will undergo a series of events at the Presidential Palace as well as meet with President Jokowi and Vice President for the 2019-2024 period, Ma’ruf Amin.
