Joe Biden Sends US Delegation to Attend Inauguration of Prabowo

SEAToday.com, Jakarta-According to the US Embassy in Jakarta, US President Joe Biden will send a presidential delegation to attend the inauguration of Indonesian President-elect Prabowo Subianto on October 20, 2024.

 

“US President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. announced the appointment of a presidential delegation to attend the inauguration of His Excellency Prabowo Subianto on October 20, 2024, in Jakarta, Indonesia,” according to a press release from the US Embassy in Jakarta, Saturday (10/12), reported from Antara.

 

US Representative to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield will be in charge of the delegation.

 

Among the delegation members are US Ambassador to Indonesia Kamala Shirin Lakhdhir, Deputy Secretary of Commerce Don Graves, Commander of the Indo-Pacific Command Admiral Samuel Paparo, US Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Daniel J. Kritenbrink and Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for East Asia and Oceania, National Security Council (NSC), White House Mira Rapp-Hooper.

 

Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka will be inaugurated as president and vice president of the Republic of Indonesia for the 2024-2029 period on October 20, 2024 at 10.00 western Indonesian time at Nusantara Building, Parliament Complex Senayan, Jakarta.

In the event, all candidates who participated in the 2024 presidential election and all leaders of political parties participating in the 2024 election are invited to attend the inauguration. Afterwards, Prabowo and Gibran are scheduled to go to the Presidential Palace to attend a farewell ceremony with President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo.
