SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Meteorological, Climatological, and Geophysical Agency (BMKG) Head Dwikorita Karnawati explained, the hot weather occurring in Indonesia is not caused by heatwave, but rather the changing season.
The changing season is marked by sunny mornings, hot afternoons, and rain from afternoons to evenings or evenings to nighttimes.
Karnawati added, hot weather is caused by the decreasing clouds and rainfalls.
Furthermore, Climatology Deputy Ardhasena Sopaheluwakan said, 8 percent of the Indonesian territory has entered the dry seasons.
Hot weather has also hit a number of countries in Asia, with some eligible to be categorized as a heatwave. The affected countries include the Philippines and Vietnam.
