Container Truck Crashes Into a Number of Drivers in Tangerang

SEAToday.com, Jakarta-A green container truck hit a number of vehicles along Hasyim Ashari and Veteran roads in Tangerang City, Thursday (10/31). This resulted in dozens of damaged vehicles and a number of injured victims.
Tangerang City Police Chief, Police Commissioner Zain Dwi Nugroho, said four people fell victim, three were women and one was a man.
All victims of the incident are currently undergoing treatment at the EMC Tangerang Hospital because they were seriously injured by the container. As for the container truck driver, he is currently still in the emergency room of Tangerang Regency Hospital because he was injured by the crowd who tried to forcefully stop the truck after it hit a number of vehicles.
“We still can't examine the driver because he is still delirious. So we will only do medical treatment first,” he said.
Despite this, the police are still collecting evidence and processing the crime scene. Regarding the identity of the driver, he said that the identity could not be known because the driver did not carry complete identification.
“Until now we have not found an identity, we only found a wallet and there was a freight invoice. Now, we are communicating with the place of the sending company and the receiving company, so that we know the identity of the driver,” he said.
The truck was coming from Graha Raya, and after being chased by the crowd, it ended up at the Tugu Adipura.
The angry crowd forced the driver out of the vehicle by throwing rocks and other objects. The driver, however, continued to drive the container truck until it was finally successfully evacuated by officers.
The incident of the container truck hitting a number of vehicles went viral on a number of social media accounts until the evacuation process of the driver by officers.
