Prophet’s Mosque Grand Imam Visits Indonesia

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Prophet’s Mosque Grand Imam Sheikh Ahmad bin Al-Hudhaify is on a four-day visit to Indonesia from Tuesday (10/8) to Friday (10/11). He is scheduled for important agendas.

On Tuesday (10/8), Sheikh Ahmad bin Al-Hudhaify will hold a meeting with the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) Head and Religious Affairs Minister Yaqut Cholil Qoumas. Then, on Wednesday (10/9), he will meet with President Joko Widodo at the State Palace and continue with meetings with PBNU officials and the Indonesian Islamic Da’wah Council.

On Thursday (10/10), the Grand Imam will meet with the Muhammadiyah Central Board and deliver a public lecture at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah and visit the Darunnajah Islamic Boarding School in Jakarta. On the last day, Sheikh Ahmad is scheduled to lead the Friday prayer at the Istiqlal Mosque. However, the schedule is subject to change.

Religious Affairs’ Islamic Education Director General Kamaruddin Amin said the visit aims to strengthen the friendship between Saudi Arabia and Indonesia.
