SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The Jakarta provincial government will add the TransJakarta route to the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) whenever an event is held so that the public can use public transportation that is safe from traffic jams.

This is in response to the traffic jam during the Bruno Mars concert at the JIS last week.

Jakarta Acting Governor Heru Budi Hartono said on Tuesday (9/17), “In the future, maybe we can coordinate with TransJakarta, we can add the routes to get there, the opening hours of the counters. We have coordinated with TransJakarta, but maybe it is still lacking, so we can evaluate the additions for when there are activities in JIS.”

Regarding parking lots, Heru said that the government had added a parking lot in Ancol, North Jakarta. However, he admitted that it was not enough to accommodate many vehicles.

Previously, several efforts were made, such as extending the operating hours of TransJakarta Corridor 14 (Juanda-JIS), conducting traffic engineering, and providing alternative routes during the concert that took place on September 11, 13, and 14.
