SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The General Elections Commission (KPU) is collaborating with one of the social media sites, TikTok, to disseminate information about the upcoming 2024 general elections.

The MoU was signed by KPU Chairman Hasyim Asy'ari on Wednesday (11/15). He said that more than 50 percent of voters are young voters, so the communication style and choice of media used must be considered to disseminate election information.

Social media is considered a means of disseminating information that is fast and widely accessed by the public, especially young people. Therefore, KPU's move to cooperate with social media is one way to prevent the spread of hoaxes, disinformation, and slander about the election.

Currently, the KPU has only cooperated with TikTok and will gradually cooperate with other social media.
