SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The Google Doodle celebrates International Women's Day on March 8. The doodle features a series of female characters from different generations who appear to be gathered in a quilt embroidered with symbols of progress over the years.
The doodle is also framed by a circular line that also symbolizes the second "O" of the word "Google”.
Women's Day Celebration History
The celebration of Women's Day began in 1908 with a demonstration in New York City where 15,000 women marched, demanding shorter working hours, better pay, and the right to vote. A year later, the Socialist Party of America declared the first National Women's Day.
