Bali Government Prohibits Production of Bottled Water Under 1 Liter

SEAToday.com, Bali - The Bali Provincial Government has banned companies from producing bottled water under 1 liter, as outlined in Circular Letter Number 9 of 2025.

Bali Governor Wayan Koster said on Sunday (4/6) that the step is part of efforts to address Bali's waste problem. The public is urged to actively participate in implementing and monitoring the use of single-use plastics.

"This is not about shutting down businesses, it is about protecting the environment. They can continue to produce, but don't damage the environment. Glass bottles are a good alternative, like in Karangasem," he said.

For implementation, the Civil Service Police Unit will work with local authorities, environmental communities and other parties to provide strict supervision.
