Religious Affairs Ministry Mobilizes Religious Affairs Offices, Religious Counselors to Prevent Online Gambling

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The Ministry of Religious Affairs has mobilized 5,940 Religious Affairs Offices (KUA) and 50,000 religious counselors to prevent online gambling. This was announced by Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar on Thursday (11/21).

The government is currently undertaking various efforts to eradicate online gambling in society, including in educational settings. Previously, the Ministry of Religious Affairs had gathered all rectors from Islamic State Universities, Islamic State Institutes, and Islamic State Colleges to discuss ways to combat online gambling.

Additionally, this topic will also be discussed through religious pulpits, particularly through Friday sermons for Muslims. 

"We will create a standardized sermon for all mosques. There are 800 mosques throughout Indonesia, in addition to prayer rooms, langgars, and suraus, Islamic places of worship, as well as places of worship for other religions, all aimed at preventing the potential for online gambling," said Nasaruddin.
