President Jokowi to Award Nugraha Sakanti Honors to 7 Police Work Units of the Republic of Indonesia on October 14, 2024

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will give Nugraha Sakanti honorary marks to seven Indonesian Police (Polri) work units. This awarding will be carried out during the Operation Mantap Brata troop event on Monday, October 14, 2024.

The Nugraha Sakanti honor mark is an award given to police units that are considered to have merit in the field of the police and are beneficial to the nation and state. Meanwhile, Operasi Mantap Brata is a force that will be assigned to secure the ceremony of taking the oath of duty of President and Vice President-elect Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka on Sunday, October 20, 2024.

The seven work units that will be awarded by Jokowi are the Korbrimob Polri, Korlantas Polri, Bareskrim Polri, Densus 88 Antiterror Polri, Pusdokkes Polri, Baharkam Polri and the Polri International Relations Division.

Korbrimob was awarded this honor because it was considered meritorious in handling operations against radical groups in Poso and handling operations against armed criminal groups (KKB) in Papua.

Furthermore, Korlantas Polri was given an award for its performance in securing and smoothing the flow of homecoming every year, organizing free transportation during homecoming, innovating law enforcement and digital services, safety, order and smoothness of traffic through e-TLE.

The award was also given to the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Bareskrim Polri) for its success in uncovering transnational crime cases such as drug kingpin Freddy Pratama under the operation code 'Escobar', dismantling drug factories and laboratories controlled by national and international mafia networks, exposing the crime of illegal access to the KPU website during the 2024 presidential election, stealing people's personal data in 34 provinces, prosecuting illegal logging practices in forests and revealing fake fuel cases in Jabodetabek.

“Furthermore, Densus 88 Antiterror was awarded for its performance and success in reducing the number of terrorism crimes both by law enforcement, prevention and anticipation,” read a press release from the National Police Headquarters, reported by Antara.

Furthermore, Pusdokkes Polri was awarded an honorary mark for dedication to serving the public in the health sector professionally; providing quality health facilities, being involved in handling the COVID-19 pandemic, monitoring the outbreak of hoof and mouth disease in livestock, participating in the handling and identification of victims of natural disasters and accidents and breaking the record for health services to 10,000 people with disabilities.

Baharkam Polri is also considered to have contributed to overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic with the Kampung Tangguh program, prosecuting illegal fishing crimes of foreign fishing vessels that cost the state more than Rp1 trillion, cracking down on drug trafficking, cracking down on illegal logging of forests in Kalimantan, mobilizing the agricultural sector in Papua, increasing people's interest in reading with libraries in Natuna, to drug disclosure at Bakauheni Port with evidence of 80 kg of methamphetamine and thousands of ecstasy items.

The Hubinter Division also received an award for its role in international UN peacekeeping missions, namely MINUSCA, UNMISS, MONUSCO, UNISFA, UNFICYP, UNSOM, and MINURSO and placed Indonesia as the sixth country as the largest contributor in the field of sending UN peacekeepers together with the TNI.

“Div Hubinter is also considered to play an active role in disclosing transnational crime cases, and repatriating Interpol fugitives hiding in Indonesian territory,” the release concluded.
