After 10 years, Bogor-Sukabumi Double Track Railway Worth Rp2.2 Trillion is Completed
SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) through the Bandung Class I Railway Engineering Center (BTP Bandung) has completed the construction of a double track worth Rp2.2 trillion on the Bogor-Sukabumi section. This double track has a total track length of 26.6 km.
“Over the past 10 years, we have completed the construction of a double track between Bogor Paledang-Cicurug, construction and arrangement of stations and improvement of railway safety on the Bogor-Sukabumi crossing, with a total budget of Rp2.2 trillion,” said Head of BTP Bandung Endang Setiawan in Jakarta, Saturday (5/10).
Endang said that in addition to the double track, over the past 10 years, construction and arrangement of stations along the Bogor-Sukabumi crossing have also been carried out to improve the quality of rail passenger services.
“The stations on the Bogor-Sukabumi crossing are also strategic areas close to tourist sites so we hope that people who want to vacation around Bogor or Sukabumi can take advantage of train transportation,” Endang explained.
In addition, to ensure the safety of road users, pedestrian bridges, underpasses and overpasses were built. Thus, there are no level crossings on the Bogor-Sukabumi crossing.
DJKA also built a skybridge connecting Bogor Paledang Station and Bogor Kota Station.
“Our target is that the skybridge can be operated in 2024 and we hope that the skybridge can facilitate access for railroad passengers,” said Endang.
The skybridge located at Bogor Paledang Station is 200 meters long and was made with the aim of improving the safety of train users and train operations.
