SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The Indonesian Health Ministry has reimplemented health screening using the SATUSEHAT Health Pass to mitigate the risk of monkeypox (mpox) transmission at the country’s entry points, primarily airports. This policy took effect on August 27.

According to Ministry Spokesperson M. Syahril, both foreign nationals and Indonesian citizens returning from overseas are required to complete the electronic SATUSEHAT Health Pass self-declaration form. Upon completion, a barcode is generated for scanning by immigration officers upon arrival. Travelers can fill out the form before or during check-in to avoid delays at the airport.

The SATUSEHAT Health Pass must be completed by travelers on the website-based platform at https://sshp.kemkes.go.id, so there is no need for travelers to download a new application.

“Strict screening is being carried out following the discovery of the Clade Ib variant outside the African region. The Mpox Clade Ib virus is indicated to have a higher degree of severity, faster transmission, including potential transmission to the children,” said Syahril.
