SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno confirmed that the government has formed a task force to reduce air ticket prices in an effort to create more efficient airline ticket prices in Indonesia. This was announced in Jakarta on Sunday (7/14).
Minister Uno explained that the task force consists of the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment, and other relevant ministries/institutions. In addition, he said that it will study how to make flights more efficient, both in terms of Avtur fuel, taxes, and operating costs.
Previously, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan revealed that Indonesia’s airplane ticket prices were the second most expensive in the world.
Minister Luhut said he was preparing aviation efficiency measures to reduce air ticket prices, one of which was related to evaluating aircraft operating costs.
