SEAToday.com, Denpasar - The Denpasar City Government plans to split some Sanur Harbour passengers to Mertasari Beach to ease congestion.

The Denpasar Mayor, I Gusti Ngurah Jaya Negara, previously requested the Transportation Ministry to hand over the management of Sanur Harbour to the City Government. In order to reduce the accumulation of passengers, Jaya Negara plans to divert tourists who will visit Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan to go through two harbors located at Matahari Terbit Beach and Mertasari Beach.

On Thursday (7/11), the ministry granted permission for the city to manage the harbor. However, the central government can still reclaim control if the city proves incapable.

"If we are unable to manage the harbor, it will be handed over to state-owned enterprises. The proposal is currently being presented to the President," Jaya Negara explained.
