Meanwhile, Thailand came in second place with a record 53 gold, 49 silver, and 29 bronze medals. Malaysia followed in third place with 38 gold, 47 silver, and 62 bronze medals.
The head of the Indonesian student contingent, Del Asri, expressed his gratitude for the win on Saturday (6/7). He highlighted that not only did Indonesia achieve the goal of being the overall champion, but the Indonesian athletes also managed to make history by setting a new record
ASEAN University Sport Council (AUSC) President Prof. Mohd Ruslim Mohammed noted that the 2024 AUG games in Indonesia made history. For the first time, every sport had delegates from all 11 member countries participating. Previously, participation in some sports was limited. This marks a significant increase in the involvement of athletes, coaches, and officials.
