Defense Minister: Indonesia Ready to Send  Doctors, Nurses to Gaza

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto said Indonesia was ready to send doctors and nurses to run field hospitals in Gaza. 

This was conveyed when he attended the Gaza Emergency Response Summit in Jordan. The defense minister also said that Indonesia was one of the most concrete countries attending the summit.

In addition to sending doctors, Indonesia is also ready to evacuate 1,000 Palestinian patients to Indonesia as a first step and also to accept traumatized Palestinian orphans to be treated and educated in Indonesia until the situation is safe again.

On the other hand, President Joko Widodo has ordered the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) to prepare Hercules aircraft to airlift aid to Gaza if requested and allowed.
