SEAToday.com, Bangkok-On Tuesday (5/28), Thailand's cabinet approved visa facilitation policies to stimulate the country's vital tourism sector.

Thai government spokesperson Chai Wacharonke said these policies include visa exemptions for visitors from 93 countries and regions, allowing them to stay up to 60 days. The policy will come into effect from June.

Additionally, the number of countries eligible for Visa on Arrival will increase to 31.

For digital nomads seeking long-term stays and remote work opportunities, the visa validity period will be extended to five years, accompanied by a residence permit for up to 180 days each.

These reforms come as Thailand's economy faces challenges, and the government seeks to revitalize the tourism industry.
