Israel Ends Al Shifa Hospital Raid, Leaving Bodies and Huge Destruction

SEAToday.com, Gaza-Israeli soldiers finally left Al Shifa Hospital in Gaza, Palestine, on Monday (4/1). They were withdrawn after a two-week Israeli attack. According to Reuters, buildings were destroyed and the bodies of Palestinians were scattered on the ground.
Eyewitnesses stated that Israeli forces set fire to all buildings in the hospital resulting in a complete shutdown of services. Israeli soldiers also destroyed and set fire to the renal and maternity ward building, the morgue refrigerator, the cancer and burns facility, the outpatient clinic building, the specialized surgery building, and the main and emergency reception buildings. Palestinian medical sources stated that the hospital is now defunct.
According to AFP and Al Arabiya, Monday (4/1), the Gaza Health Ministry reported that dozens of bodies were found in the Al-Shifa Hospital grounds. Witnesses said Israeli soldiers destroyed a makeshift cemetery set up by Palestinians at the facility and removed the bodies from there, scattering them in different areas of the hospital.
The Israeli military confirmed that its forces had withdrawn from Al-Shifa Hospital. It also stated that the sweep of the largest hospital in the Gaza Strip had been carried out while “preventing harm to civilians, patients, and medical teams”. (GHINA/DKD)
