SEAToday.com, Terengganu-After The Federal Court of Malaysia decided to consider sixteen Sharia laws implemented in Kelantan as unconstitutional, Menteri Besar of Terengganu, Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar stated that his government is ready to review the state’s Sharia law.

He said that the review, which also covers all aspects of the court decision is taken to ensure that Terengganu’s Sharia laws are not in conflict with the federal constitution.

However, he added that his government is willing to take any necessary action for anyone who challenges the enactments of the state’s Sharia laws.

He also claimed that the court decision would have negative effects on Malaysia’s Sharia court system, not just in Kelantan.

Previously, Hamzah Zainudin, the Malaysian opposition leader called on all stakeholders to enforce Sharia law more by amending the constitution following the decision made by the Federal Court of Malaysia.(AKBAR/ALVIN)
