Cikarang Farmers Provided Discounted Fertilizer from Coordinating Ministry of Economic Affairs
SEAToday.com, Cikarang-Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto met with farmers of the city of Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, on Sunday (2/4) morning as a part of the "Gebyar Diskon Pupuk" program to provide discounted fertilizer to farmers.
The program initiated by the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs in partnership with state owned holding company, Pupuk Indonesia, aims to provide non subsidized fertilizer at a steep discount to farmers in 42 cities in Indonesia.
1000 vouchers were distributed to farmers from Cikarang who attended the event. The vouchers discounted the sacks of fertilizer by 40 percent, which cuts the prices from 450 thousand rupiah to only 270 thousand rupiah.
Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto hope the subsidized fertilizer application will be on target, “Earlier, there was a request from one of the farmers that providing an identity card should be enough to receive the fertilizer, and regarding signatures, because signing on the EDC is difficult, we will try to simplify the regulations, and if the farmers are unable to, we will allow them to authorize someone else to receive the fertilizer with a power of attorney letter, so in principle we want to make it easier for the farmers.” (AA/DKD)
