SEAToday.com, Sidoarjo-On Wednesday (27/12), President Joko Widodo handed out land certificates to the people living in Sidoarjo, East Java Province. There were 4,000 land certificates handed out by the government to the people.

The land certificate is a document that proves the holder is the official owner of the land. The government handed out three types of certificates, the first one is the full systematic land registration/ land redistribution certificate and the wakaf land certificate.

Since 2015 until today, the government has been in the process of officiating 126 million lands for the people. There are still 6 million lands that have not been officiated. The government has until next year to finish up the target. President has a strong opinion towards all these land certificates being handed out.

“All certificates that come out of the BPN office are proof of legal rights to the land that you have, meaning that if there is a dispute, you are taken to court, you win because you have a clear legal basis, namely the name of the certificate of ownership,” said President Joko Widodo.

President Jokowi also reminds the people who recieved the certificate, that if they want to use it as collateral, they must calculate carefully whether they can pay the installments. Do not fail to pay the installments, or the certificate will be confiscated by the bank.
