Hamas: Israel Can Only Retrieve Hostages Through Prisoner Exchange

SEAToday.com, Gaza - Hamas has stated that the only way for Israel to recover its citizens held hostage is through a prisoner exchange agreement. This statement was made by senior Hamas official Mahmoud Mardawi on Sunday (3/2).
"Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is delusional if he thinks he can achieve his goals through the starvation war imposed on the Gaza Strip," said Mardawi.
He also reiterated Hamas’ refusal to extend the first phase of the agreement with Israel, emphasizing that all phases must be implemented as signed.
Mardawi further urged mediators to ensure that Israel complies with all provisions in the agreement.
The first phase of the three-stage agreement between Hamas and Israel, which lasted 42 days and included an increase in humanitarian aid, ended on Saturday (3/1).
