Pertamina Ensures Pertamax Meets Government Standards

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, a subsidiary of PT Pertamina (Persero) responsible for trade and distribution, has affirmed that there is no mixing of Pertamax fuel.
Corporate Secretary of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Heppy Wulansari, assured that Pertamax quality complies with government regulations, maintaining an octane rating (RON) of 92.
"All products received at Pertamina’s fuel terminals meet their respective specifications. Pertalite has a RON of 90, while Pertamax has a RON of 92. From the moment they arrive at our terminals, all fuels comply with government standards," Heppy stated in Jakarta on Wednesday.
She also explained that at the main fuel terminals, a dye injection process is conducted to differentiate fuel types for easy public recognition. Additionally, additives are included to enhance Pertamax’s performance.
"So, there is no fuel mixing or RON alteration. The public does not need to worry about Pertamax quality," she emphasized.
Pertamina Patra Niaga also implements strict monitoring procedures to ensure fuel quality through quality control (QC).
Furthermore, Pertamina’s fuel distribution is directly supervised by the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) to guarantee product quality for consumers.
"We strictly follow procedures to maintain quality, and BPH Migas also oversees the distribution process," Heppy added.
Heppy further emphasized that Pertamina is committed to upholding good corporate governance (GCG) principles to ensure the supply of high-quality fuel for consumers.
