Government Offers Airline Ticket and Toll Discounts for 2025 Eid Travelers

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The government has confirmed that airline ticket discounts and toll fare reductions will be available for travelers during the 2025 Eid homecoming season. This policy aims to ease travel expenses for the public during the holiday.
Deputy Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs, Lodewijk F. Paulus, stated that airline ticket discounts during the 2024 Christmas and New Year holidays reached 10 percent. For this year’s Eid, the discount may be even higher after coordination with relevant parties.
Meanwhile, toll road users will receive up to a 20 percent discount. "This is a significant reduction, and we hope it will help smooth the homecoming traffic flow," Lodewijk said after attending a coordination meeting on Eid preparations in Central Jakarta.
The airline ticket discount is made possible due to operational cost relief for airlines, including lower aircraft parking fees and fuel prices. The toll discount, on the other hand, is the result of an agreement among relevant institutions during the coordination meeting.
Additionally, the government will open several new toll road sections to support the main homecoming routes. In total, 89 toll roads will be operational, covering 12 key routes across Java and Sumatra. However, Lodewijk has yet to specify the exact locations of the new toll sections.
All toll roads set to be used have been inspected to ensure safety and road quality. With these measures in place, the government hopes that the 2025 Eid homecoming journey will be more comfortable, safe, and affordable for the public.
