Sukatani Band Offered Role as National Police Ambassadors After Viral Criticism

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has invited Sukatani Band to become Polri ambassadors as part of efforts to build a better institution. According to him, constructive criticism is essential for continuous evaluation and improvement within the police force.
"If Sukatani Band agrees, we will appoint them as judges or Polri ambassadors to encourage constructive criticism. This is important as a form of evaluation of officers who still engage in misconduct," said the Police Chief in Jakarta on Sunday.
He emphasized that this invitation reflects Polri’s commitment to continuous improvement and becoming a more modern and adaptive organization that welcomes public input.
"We want to show that Polri is not against criticism. In fact, criticism is a form of public concern for us," he added.
Previously, Polri had also provided space for criticism through art forums, such as stand-up comedy. Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko from Polri’s Public Relations Division stated that various communities had expressed their criticism through artistic and creative expressions, which were then used as evaluation material for Polri.
This invitation comes after Sukatani Band issued an apology to the Police Chief and Polri regarding their song Bayar Bayar Bayar, which went viral on social media. The song was said to be directed at police officers who violated regulations.
Through this openness, Polri hopes to continue transforming into a more professional institution that earns the trust of the public.
