Egypt Confident Gaza Can Be Rebuilt in Three Years with Arab Nations Support

SEAToday.com, Cairo - Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has affirmed that Egypt and other Arab nations are capable of completing the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip within three years. This statement comes in response to the massive destruction the region has suffered due to Israeli aggression.
“The reconstruction process of Gaza is estimated to take three years. Egypt and Arab nations are prepared to complete it within this timeframe,” Madbouly said during a government press conference on Wednesday (Feb 19).
Egypt previously announced plans to publicly present a comprehensive reconstruction strategy for Gaza, ensuring that the enclave remains under Palestinian control.
Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty stated that the government has developed a detailed and complex reconstruction plan to restore Gaza’s post-conflict conditions.
Meanwhile, the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, which took effect on January 19, 2025, has facilitated the exchange of Israeli hostages in Gaza for Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli detention centers. The ceasefire agreement was reached through mediation by Qatar, Egypt, and the United States on January 15, 2025.
So far, six prisoner exchanges have taken place, involving a total of 33 Israeli hostages swapped for approximately 1,500 Palestinian detainees over 42 days.
Additionally, humanitarian aid to Gaza has continued to increase, with more than 600 trucks delivering supplies daily, including 50 fuel trucks. The ceasefire has also allowed displaced residents from southern Gaza to return to the northern areas.
