Nearly 1 Ton US Bomb Shipment, Previously Delayed Under Biden, Arrives in Israel

SEAToday.com, Jakarta – After being delayed under President Joe Biden’s administration, a shipment of US-made heavy bombs has finally arrived in Israel, according to a report by Sputnik.
A ship carrying MK-84 bombs, each weighing nearly one ton, unloaded its cargo at Ashdod Port. Dozens of trucks then transported the bombs to various Israeli air bases.
"These bombs, which were sent by President (Donald) Trump’s administration and arrived in Israel tonight, are a crucial asset for the Air Force and the IDF (Israeli Defense Forces). This also serves as proof of the strengthening alliance between Israel and the United States," said Israel’s Defense Minister, Israel Katz.
The shipment was previously halted by the Biden administration in late May 2024, during Israel’s ground offensive in Rafah, southern Gaza.
Since the outbreak of the Israel-Palestine conflict in Gaza in October 2023, Israel’s Defense Ministry reported that over 76,000 tons of military equipment have been delivered to Israel. These shipments arrived via 678 transport planes and 129 ships, with the majority coming from the United States.
Israel’s use of heavy bombs has been linked to the bombing of Al Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza in October 2023, which killed more than 470 people.
Currently, a ceasefire agreement between Israel and the Palestinian resistance group Hamas has been in place in Gaza since January 19, halting the war that has claimed over 48,200 Palestinian lives.
