Mobile Home and Heavy Equipment Aid for Gaza Denied by Israel
SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu has refused to allow entry into the Gaza Strip for a shipment of mobile homes and heavy equipment despite a ceasefire deal, local media reported on Sunday (16/2).
Public broadcaster KAN, citing anonymous sources, said that Netanyahu would not allow heavy equipment into the Palestinian enclave to clear the rubble of destroyed buildings.
Palestinians previously accused Israel of violating humanitarian protocols in the Gaza ceasefire deal by denying entry to relief goods such as tents and caravans for homeless residents.
The destruction of Gaza due to Israel's brutal military aggression has left thousands of Palestinians homeless.
On Saturday, the Palestinian resistance group Hamas released three Israeli hostages after receiving assurances from mediators that mobile homes and heavy equipment would be allowed into Gaza.
During the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire, 19 Israelis and five Thai workers held hostage by Hamas were released in exchange for the release of 1,135 Palestinians held by Israel.
