SEAToday.com, Bogor - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto announced that Indonesia and Turkey have agreed to finalize the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) and expand market access for products from both countries.

This agreement was conveyed during a bilateral meeting and a joint press statement with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java, on Wednesday (2/12).

"We are committed to enhancing trade between Indonesia and Turkey in a way that benefits both nations. We will also accelerate the finalization of CEPA and open wider market access for our products," said President Prabowo in his opening remarks before the attending delegates.

He emphasized that the Indonesia-Turkey partnership is not only for economic interests but also for the prosperity of the people and global stability.

During President Erdogan's state visit to Indonesia, the two leaders also held a meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC).

President Prabowo stated that this meeting is a testament to the strong partnership between Indonesia and Turkey.

"Today marks the first High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council meeting. Indonesia does not have many regular bilateral mechanisms at the head of state level, making this an important moment for both countries," he added.

During the bilateral meeting, President Prabowo was accompanied by several ministers from the Red and White Cabinet. This agreement is expected to further strengthen trade and investment relations between Indonesia and Turkey in the future.
