TransJakarta to Add Routes to Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - TransJakarta plans to expand its service coverage by adding new routes to Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Bodetabek) in the coming months. This plan was announced by TransJakarta’s Director of Operations and Safety, Daud Joseph, on Thursday (2/6).
"There will be new routes reaching the Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi areas," said Joseph. "We anticipate that this plan could be realized within the next 2–3 months."
According to Joseph, TransJakarta's service coverage currently stands at 91.7 percent. However, he emphasized that achieving full coverage of 100 percent is not feasible due to certain areas being difficult to reach. "We will reach an optimal figure of around 92 or 93 percent while maintaining effectiveness and efficiency," he added.
Previously, TransJakarta collaborated with the Greater Jakarta Transportation Agency (BPTJ) to expand feeder bus routes, aiming to improve mobility for residents in the Jabodetabek area. However, the details of these additional routes are still being discussed with BPTJ to ensure an optimal transportation system.
Meanwhile, Jakarta gubernatorial candidate Ridwan Kamil, during his campaign in September 2024, promised to extend TransJakarta’s services to Bodetabek within the first two years of his term if elected. This initiative aims to facilitate transportation access for Bodetabek residents who work in Jakarta.
These efforts reflect TransJakarta’s and the local government’s commitment to enhancing accessibility and improving the quality of public transportation for people in Jakarta and its surrounding areas.
