KAI Introduces Batavia Train for Gambir–Solo Balapan Route Starting February 6

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Daop 1 Jakarta is set to introduce a new train service, the Batavia Train, which will operate on the Gambir–Solo Balapan round-trip route starting February 6, 2025.
The launch of the Batavia Train aligns with the implementation of the 2025 Train Travel Chart (Gapeka).
The name "Batavia" is derived from Jakarta’s historical name during the Dutch East Indies era. This train service is essentially a rebranding of the Additional Manahan Train, which has been in operation since February 7, 2024.
"We hope this train will enhance accessibility and provide a more comfortable travel experience between Solo and Jakarta," said KAI Daop 1 Jakarta Public Relations Manager, Ixfan Hendriwintoko.
The Batavia Train will depart from Gambir Station at 09:35 AM WIB and is scheduled to arrive at Solo Balapan Station at 06:00 PM WIB.
Along its journey, the train will make stops at 11 stations, including Bekasi, Karawang, Cirebon, Purwokerto, Kroya, Kebumen, Kutoarjo, Yogyakarta, Klaten, and its final destination, Solo Balapan.
The service will be available in two classes: economy and executive, with each class consisting of four carriages.
The Batavia Train has a total seating capacity of 488 passengers, comprising 200 seats in the executive class and 288 seats in the economy class.
As for ticket pricing, the economy class fare is set at Rp350,000, while the executive class costs Rp530,000.
"With the Batavia Train, KAI offers a variety of onboard facilities, ensuring a more diverse and comfortable travel experience tailored to passengers' needs," Ixfan added.
