US to Take Over Gaza, Says Trump

SEAToday.com, Washington - US President Donald Trump has stated that the United States plans to take over the Gaza Strip, Palestine. He made this statement during a press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday (2/4) local time.
"The US will take over Gaza, and we will do something there," Trump said. He added that the US would take control of the area to "remove all active dangerous bombs and other weapons, flatten the area, and clear the destroyed buildings."
Trump also claimed that the US would develop Gaza’s economy by providing jobs and housing for its residents.
Earlier, during a meeting in the Oval Office of the White House, Trump said he believed that Jordan and Egypt would accept the relocation of Palestinians from Gaza.
The war-torn region, devastated by Israeli aggression, was described by Trump as a "demolition site" that is no longer habitable.
"I know they (Egypt and Jordan) have discussed this with you, and they said they will not accept (Gaza residents)," Trump told Netanyahu. "I say they will accept, but I also think other countries will take them in," he added.
Trump also argued that the people of Gaza, who he described as "having suffered greatly," would prefer to leave the area if given the option.
"If they have a choice, they will not return to Gaza but rather move to a more beautiful and safer place," he said.
On January 25, Trump proposed relocating Gaza residents to Egypt and Jordan, but the idea was immediately rejected by both countries.
Hamas, the Palestinian resistance group governing Gaza, strongly condemned Trump's statement, calling it "US involvement in Israel's crimes."
Gaza is currently in a critical state due to airstrikes and blockades imposed by Israel since the conflict reignited in October 2024. The Palestinian enclave has long been at the center of tensions in the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict.
