A Fatal Accident at Ciawi Toll Gate Leaves 8 Dead, 11 Injured

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Bogor City Police Chief, Commissioner Eko Prasetyo, confirmed that eight people lost their lives in a tragic accident at the Ciawi Toll Gate in Katulampa Village, Bogor City, West Java, on Tuesday (2/4) at around 11:30 PM local time.
In addition to the fatalities, 11 others sustained injuries in the incident.
"Eight people died, and 11 others were injured," Commissioner Eko stated on Wednesday (5/2) morning, as reported by Antara.
Initially, reports indicated that the accident claimed six lives and injured two people.
Following the crash, both the deceased and the injured were immediately transported to Ciawi Regional General Hospital (RSUD) for medical attention.
The accident involved six vehicles, with three catching fire and the other three sustaining severe damage.
The crash occurred on the Bogor-Jakarta Toll Road, specifically at the Ciawi 2 Toll Gate, on Tuesday at around 11:30 PM WIB.
At the time, a truck carrying gallons was traveling from Ciawi toward Jakarta when it experienced brake failure right at the toll gate, leading to the fatal collision.
