SEAToday.com, Jakarta – During his state visit to Malaysia on Monday, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto received the prestigious Darjah Kerabat Johor Yang Amat Dihormati Pangkat Pertama (D.K I Johor) award. The honor was personally presented by the 17th Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim, at the Malaysian National Palace.

D.K I Johor is one of the highest honors bestowed by the Johor Sultanate, established on July 31, 1886. With the motto "Muafakat Itu Berkat" (which means "Concord is a Blessing"), this award is given to Malay rulers, members of the royal family, and foreign leaders who contribute to strengthening bilateral relations.

The award carries deep historical and symbolic significance. It features a gold necklace inscribed with the name of Sultan Abu Bakar in Jawi script, symbolizing prosperity and unity. Additionally, a grand nine-pointed star represents the values of leadership and solidarity upheld by the Johor Sultanate.

By receiving this award, President Prabowo joins a distinguished list of global figures who have been honored in the past, including Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Saadul Khairi Waddien (1960), Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzadin Waddaulah (1969), President Soeharto (1990), Pengiran Isteri Mariam (1997), Hamad bin Isa al Khalifa (2017), and Pengiran Muda Mahkota al-Muhtadee Billah (2023).

This conferment highlights the strong diplomatic ties between Indonesia and Malaysia, which continue to grow through various strategic collaborations. The award further reinforces Indonesia’s position as a key partner to Malaysia in the Southeast Asian region.
