SEAToday.com, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto will inaugurate around 270 regional heads elected in the 2024 simultaneous regional elections at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, on February 6, 2025.

This was revealed by Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Bima Arya Sugiarto. He said that the regional heads inaugurated on that date were part of the first inauguration of regional heads whose election results were not disputed or not challenged to the Constitutional Court (MK).

“God willing, Mr. Prabowo will inaugurate in accordance with Law Number 10/2016 Article 164 B,” said Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Bima Arya.

Law Number 10 of 2016 is the legal basis governing the election of governors, regents and mayors.

The elected pair of Jakarta governor and deputy governor, Pramono Anung and Rano Karno, will also be inaugurated by President Prabowo at the inauguration.

Meanwhile, Bima Arya said that the inauguration of regional heads is likely to take place three times or three terms.

“There may be three, the second will be for regional heads whose lawsuit is rejected or dismissed, the third is for those whose lawsuit is accepted to then order re-election or re-voting,” Bima said.

As for the schedule for the inauguration of the two groups of regional heads whose election results are still in dispute, it will adjust to the results of the Constitutional Court hearing or the results of the re-election.

The inauguration schedule agreed upon by the Government and the House of Representatives has also been reported by Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian to President Prabowo during a cabinet meeting on Wednesday (22/1) afternoon.

“Minister of Home Affairs has reported to the President. The President responded well. It was reported that this has been unanimously approved in the DPR,” Bima Arya explained.
