29 Train Trips are Being Diverted Due to Disconnected Rail Line in Grobogan
SEAToday.com, Semarang - PT KAI has reported that 29 long-distance train trips are still diverted following the rail line at the crossing between Gubug Station and Karangjati Station which is still cut off due to flooding in Grobogan Regency, Central Java, on January 21, 2025.
“The pattern of operations by implementing rerouting is still being implemented until this morning,” said PT KAI Daop 4 Semarang Public Relations Manager Franoto Wibowo in Semarang on Thursday.
A number of trains from Jakarta and Bandung to various regions in East Java whose travel routes must rotate include Kertajaya, Jayabaya, Blambangan Ekspres, Pandalungan, Argo Bromo Anggrek, Harina, Airlangga, Gumarang, Dharmawangsa, and Sembrani.
He gave an example of Argo Bromo Anggrek train whose journey was diverted through Solo.
Meanwhile, other long-distance trains traveled through Brumbung-Gundih-Gambringan route, avoiding the broken rail line.
In addition to the diversion of 29 train trips, PT KAI also canceled nine train trips that crossed the Daop Semarang area.
He said efforts to repair the track that was cut off by the flood continue.
He said 2,500 tons of gravel had been dumped on the eroded rail line in Grobogan.
“Hopefully one of the lines will be repaired today so that trains can pass through,” he said.
Previously, the long-duration rain that fell on various regions in Central Java from Monday (20/1) night to Tuesday (21/1) caused natural disasters in a number of areas.
