SEAToday.com, Washington – President Donald Trump officially signed an executive order on Monday (1/20) local time to withdraw the United States from the World Health Organization (WHO).

According to Trump, the WHO has let the United States down. "The WHO has deceived us. Everyone has deceived the United States, and this must stop. It will not happen again," Trump told reporters in the Oval Office after signing the order.

Trump, who was recently inaugurated for his second term, brings significant changes to the US administration, which are expected to have a major impact on both American society and the world.

He also highlighted the US financial contributions to the WHO, which amount to 500 million US dollars (approximately 8.15 trillion rupiahs), while China contributes only 39 million US dollars (approximately 635.6 billion rupiahs). "I think this is unfair, although that's not the main reason. I decided to withdraw... China is a bigger country, but its contribution is much smaller," he added.

In addition to leaving the WHO, Trump also announced the US withdrawal from the 2016 Paris Climate Agreement, considering it to be unfair and biased.

Trump was officially sworn in as the 47th President of the United States after taking the oath of office at the Capitol Rotunda, Washington DC, at 12:02 PM local time. The ceremony was led by US Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts and followed by Trump's inaugural speech as US President for the 2025-2029 term.
