Weather Forecast: Rainy Day in Jakarta, Prepare for Showers from Noon to Evening
SEAToday.com, Jakarta – The Jakarta area is forecasted to experience rain starting Thursday (1/16) afternoon and continuing into the evening, according to the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG).
In an update shared on its official social media page, BMKG reported that West Jakarta, Central Jakarta, and North Jakarta would see cloudy skies from morning until midday, between 7:00 AM and 1:00 PM WIB, with temperatures ranging from 25 to 30 degrees Celsius.
Rain is expected to fall in West Jakarta and Central Jakarta from late afternoon until evening, around 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM WIB, with temperatures averaging 26–27 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, North Jakarta is forecasted to experience rain starting at 4:00 PM, followed by cloudy skies again by 7:00 PM WIB, with a steady temperature of 27 degrees Celsius.
South Jakarta and East Jakarta are expected to see rain earlier, beginning at 1:00 PM and continuing until evening at 7:00 PM WIB. Temperatures in these areas will range between 26 and 30 degrees Celsius.
In contrast, the Thousand Islands will experience rain earlier in the morning, starting at 7:00 AM WIB. The rain will briefly subside, leaving cloudy skies before resuming at 1:00 PM. By late afternoon, around 4:00 PM, the rain is expected to stop, and the evening sky will clear up with scattered clouds by 7:00 PM WIB. Temperatures in the Thousand Islands will range from 26 to 28 degrees Celsius.
Jakarta residents are advised to bring an umbrella or raincoat, especially if venturing outdoors in areas where rain is expected from midday through the evening.
