PLN Customers Get 50 Percent Discount in January and February 2025

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Director General of Electricity of the Ministry of Mineral Resources (ESDM) Jisman P. Hutajulu said that his party has set a 50 percent discount for electricity tariffs for household customers of PT PLN (Persero) with power up to 2,200VA.
Jisman said this was done “to maintain purchasing power and improve people's welfare”.
“The government provides an electricity cost stimulus which is part of an incentive package in the economic sector, in the form of a 50 percent discount on electricity costs to household customers of PT PLN (Persero) with installed power up to 2,200 VA power targeting 81.42 million customers,” he said as reported by Antara.
The discount is in accordance with the Decree of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Number 348.K/TL.01/MEM.L/2024 on the Provision of Discounts on Electricity Costs for Household Consumers of PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero).
The discount will be given to customers with 450 VA, 900 VA, 1,300 VA, and 2,200 VA power that is valid for two months, January and February 2025.
“The provision of electricity cost discounts is carried out automatically through the PLN system,” said Jisman.
The discount mechanism is carried out when people buy electricity tokens in January and February. Later, people only pay a token price of half of the previous month's purchase to get the same kWh.
“The public is also expected to use electrical energy more economically and wisely to support energy independence,” said Jisman.
