Police Deploy 1,500 personnel to Secure New Year's Eve in Jakarta

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Polda Metro Jaya has deployed 1,500 personnel to safeguard the New Year's Eve 2025 celebrations in Jakarta and surrounding areas.

“We have mobilized 1,500 security personnel consisting of 900 Metro Jaya Police and 600 regional units,” said Head of Public Relations of Metro Jaya Police, Police Commissioner Ade Ary Syam Indradi in his statement in Jakarta, Monday, December 30, 2024, as reported by Antara.

Ade Ary explained that there are at least 12 entertainment stage locations that are the focal points of the guarding, namely, Panin Bank Building (stage theme: Jakarta Bernostalgia), SCBD Area (Jakarta Berdansa), FX Sudirman (Jakarta Indie), Orient Hotel (Jakarta Berdendang), Sudirman World Trade Center Building (Jakarta Beranyi).

Then, Wisma Nugra Santana (Jakarta Punk), Japanese Embassy (Jakarta Rock), Sari Pasific Building (Eletric Jakarta), Horse Statue Area (Jakarta Swaying), UOB Building (BUMN-BTN), Dukuh Atas Area - JXB River (BUMD-PAM Jaya) and Banteng Field (Decade Charm).

Ade Ary also added that a number of personnel will be deployed in the Senayan Roundabout Area, Semanggi Circle Area, HI Roundabout Area, Horse Statue Roundabout Area, Harmony Area, Tourist Attraction Area (Ancol and TMII).

“We ask the public to celebrate in an organized manner and still obey the existing rules. We must increase the spirit of tolerance and empathy during this moment,” he said.

He also urged the public to celebrate New Year's Eve in a safe, peaceful and orderly manner.

“Let us make this moment a place to strengthen togetherness and build empathy for others. Polda Metro Jaya together with the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) are fully committed to ensuring the celebration runs smoothly,” he continued.

In addition, Ade Ary also advised the public who will celebrate New Year's Eve, to use public transportation (MRT, Transjakarta) to the event location.
