The Odd-Even Rule in DKI Jakarta Will Be Suspended on December 25-26, 2024, and January 1, 2025
SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The Jakarta Provincial Government has eliminated the odd-even policy on December 25-26, 2024 and January 1, 2025 in connection with the national holidays in the framework of Christmas and New Year (Nataru) 2025.
“In connection with the national holiday, the Nataru holiday, the odd-even policy on December 25-26, 2024 and January 1, 2025 will be eliminated,” said Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) Head Syafrin Liputo when contacted in Jakarta, Wednesday (25/12).
The elimination of even-odd on those dates is in accordance with Governor Regulation (Pergub) Number 88 of 2019 concerning Traffic Restrictions, namely the even-odd system is not applied on Saturdays, Sundays and National Holidays stipulated by Presidential Decree.
Syafrin appealed to road users to always be careful when even-odd Jakarta is closed. Road users are also asked to follow the directions of officers in the field.
In addition, Syafrin hoped that Christmas 2024 and New Year celebrations in Jakarta can run smoothly, safely and conducively.
“Together we maintain the security, comfort, and order of the 2024 Christmas celebration,” Syafrin said.
Meanwhile, to secure Christmas and New Year 2025 activities, Polda Metro Jaya mobilized as many as 4,357 joint personnel.
Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Karyoto after a coordination meeting in Jakarta on Thursday (19/12) urged the public not to overdo celebrating Nataru.
“We hope that no one who is drunk goes to entertainment venues, no one carries sharp weapons and hopefully we are grateful that in the past few weeks brawls have subsided thanks to cooperation, TNI, Satpol PP actively patrolling,” he said.
Karyoto also mentioned that his party would carry out extra monitoring in entertainment venues or community gathering activities.
