Karawang Whoosh Station Set to Launch on December 24, 2024

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Whoosh Karawang Station will start serving up and down passengers starting December 24, 2024. This opening is also an increase in services during Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025 (Nataru).

The operation of Karawang Station will provide ease of travel for the people of Karawang and its surroundings who will move.

KCIC General Manager Corporate Secretary Eva Chairunnisa said that Whoosh Karawang Station had previously been operating since October 2023 to serve Whoosh operations. However, starting December 24, 2024, the station will officially serve passengers up and down.

“The preparation process for the opening of Karawang Station has also been reviewed directly by the Vice President, he is very supportive because the opening of Whoosh Karawang Station will provide wider accessibility for the community to experience fast and comfortable travel,” Eva said.

In the initial stage, Whoosh Karawang Station will serve 20 train schedules, consisting of 10 departures from Whoosh Halim Station and 10 departures from Tegalluar Summarecon or Padalarang Whoosh Station with the following details:

By using Whoosh, the Halim - Karawang route and vice versa will be reached in just 15 minutes, much faster if using a car that takes about 1 hour. Meanwhile, the Karawang - Padalarang route will be reached in only 20 minutes, while if using a car it can take 1.5 to 2 hours.

Eva added that KCIC is currently in the process of finalizing the Whoosh ticketing system for the new route. The public should stay tuned for the latest official information from the company regarding the procedures and timing of the Whoosh route sales from and to Karawang Station.

“The opening of Karawang Whoosh Station on December 24, 2024, is KCIC's effort to introduce this new service to the public. The opening of Karawang Station is carried out in stages to ensure that all operational and service aspects can run optimally. KCIC continues to be committed to providing the best service for the community, while ensuring the readiness of infrastructure, facilities, and intermodal integration that supports passenger comfort,” Eva concluded.
