SEAToday.com, Nusantara - The Nusantara Authority (OIKN) is targeting the construction of legislative and judicial infrastructure to be completed by 2028. Meanwhile, the executive infrastructure is almost complete and is targeted to be functional in early 2025.

In its official statement, OIKN said legislative and judicial infrastructure is now the main focus of IKN development. This is in line with the government's target to make Nusantara a fully functional capital city by 2028. Meanwhile, executive infrastructure is targeted for completion earlier, to support the gradual transfer of the state civil servant (ASN) starting in 2025.

Of the 109 development packages from the state budget contracted from 2020 to 2024, the development progress in IKN has reached 61.7 percent.

Troy Pantouw, Special Staff to the OIKN’s Head for Public Communication, emphasised the importance of sustainability in the development of IKN. “This is not a project but a joint work that we must work together to do,” he said.
